Evaluation of web sites / Lesson plan

Well over the last day and a half I have been looking at web-sites about the whole process of municipal water purification. So far here are the links I have found:
http://www.cyber-nook.com/water/Solutions.html
http://www.excelwater.com/eng/b2c/about_8.php
http://www.hitachi-pt.com/products/es/purification.html
http://www.fcwa.org/story_of_water/html/clean.htm
I really like the last one because it looks like it was designed for young students.

As for the lesson plan in the materials for module #3 it says that we each have to create a different lesson plan, and if any of us use the same topic or idea then we will both lose credit for the assignment.
For my lesson I was thinking that I would have students create a movie/presentation of the different stages of the water purification process, individually or in groups, using either movie maker or something like power point. Then having students present this to the class and post it online via YouTube.

-Good luck this week and happy lesson planning!

  1. Sounds perfect to me. I am having the students research the different types of water purification processes, create a mini powerpoint, and an experiment (how to purify water at home), which they can present to the classroom, with the powerpoint.

  2. Okay- I'm having students research "demineralized water" what it is what it consists of, whether or not its safe, how to obtain it, etc. Then if possible, they'll bring in samples- they'll be in small groups and there should be 1 sample per group. Also- they'll create power point explaining each of the points in brief.
